The Importance of Nature and Wellness

Recent studies have shown that spending time in nature has numerous benefits for our physical and mental health. Nature has the ability to reduce stress, improve mood, and increase feelings of happiness and well-being. In addition, the changing of seasons can have a significant effect on our emotional & physical state.

The Effects of Seasonal Changes on our Body and Mind

As the weather shifts from one season to another, our body and mind must adapt to these changes. For example, in the winter months, our body may become more susceptible to illness and fatigue due to the lack of sunlight and colder temperatures. In contrast, the warmer months of spring and summer can bring about feelings of anxiety and restlessness.

However, by incorporating massage and bodywork into our wellness routine, we can help ease the transitions between seasons. Massage can improve circulation, decrease inflammation, and promote relaxation, all of which can have a positive impact on our physical and emotional wellbeing.

The Benefits of Massage & Bodywork

A recent study published by the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that massage therapy can help reduce symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), such as depression and fatigue. SAD is a type of depression that occurs during the winter months due to lack of sunlight.

In addition, massage and bodywork can help boost our immune system, which is especially important during the winter months when we are more susceptible to illness. Regular massage sessions can improve our sleep quality, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve our overall mood.

Seasonal Services Offered at The Pushy Goat

While we believe just making time for ourselves and scheduling a traditional integrative massage should be rewarded, we like to switch it up from time to time. With the shifting of the seasons, we like to create new, seasonal services to appeal to more than just our sense of touch. This year we have created four Autumnal inspired services for you to choose from that incorporates lovely scents of the season, warm stones, body scrubs, & cozy wraps. It is important to prioritize our wellness, especially during times of seasonal transition. By spending time in nature and incorporating massage and bodywork into our routine, we can improve our physical and emotional wellbeing. With the help of these practices, we can better adapt to the changing seasons and find greater balance and happiness in our lives.
