"Understanding the Decision: Why Gift Certificates Are Being Discontinued"

Updated: Apr 15

For seven (7) years, gift certificates were an integral part of the growth of our business. Being someone's "gift" for the last seven years has been such an honor and this fact will remain the same. For seven (7) years, gift certificates were an integral part of the growth of our business.

In 2024 we officially released the title of "employer"/"employee" at The Pushy Goat and have fully embraced the independent contractor life. Back to the basics as they say, and we could not be happier. As massage therapists, we promote health & wellness. Within this realm, the idea of living a less complicated life is not only appealing, but we have the choice to make it attainable for ourselves. This has driven the decision to restructure the company as well as discontinue the sale of gift certificates. This may change in the future, but for the foreseeable future, this is how we will move forward.

Gift certificates that have been purchased and have not reached their expiration date will still be honored. I have attached all the FAQs that are available on our website pertaining to the redemption of these gift certificates. We do still love being a part of someone's life celebrations as well as being able to hold space for those who may be going through a stressful time. If you would like to gift a service to a friend or a loved one, it is still possible. While we do not have the ability to pre-pay for services, you can always encourage or help your person to schedule an appointment with us and then call to authorize payment of the service with a different card. If this is what happens, card information will be taken at the time of the call and the service will be billed on the date the service is to commence. We have also had people put cash in a card and/or create a note that says what the money is intended for. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call and we will help you as much as possible.

Please continue to read below to reference our policies surrounding gift certificate redemption. Remember, if you are redeeming a gift certificate, it must be presented at the time of your service.

When do gift certificates expire?

  • Gift Certificates are valid for two (2) years after the date of purchase if purchased before October 2023, after October 2023 they expire eighteen (18) months after the date of purchase. If purchased after October, there is an 18-month expiration date.  Gift Certificates must be present at the time of redemption.

  • There is no refund offered for gift certificate purchases.

  • We will not extend gift certificate expiration dates. Eighteen to twenty-four months is ample time to redeem a gift certificate.

  • Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE will we extend the expiration date of a gift certificate. Eighteen (18) to twenty-four (24) months is plenty of time to redeem a gift certificate. You can ask, but the answer will be no.

  • We book up consistently one (1) to two (2) months in advance and it is your responsibility to manage expectations. If you wait until the last day a gift certificate is valid it is HIGHLY unlikely that you will get in that day or the day after. It is possible, but unlikely. It is not our responsibility to manage your time.

  • You may transfer a gift certificate to someone else. Simply hand the certificate to them before they come in, make sure it is still valid though!

  • All gift certificates purchased before January 1, 2021, are expired and will not be accepted as payment. Gift certificates are valid ONLY (18) to (24) months from the date of purchase.
