April: Stress Awareness Month

Spring is upon us, and has been for a couple of weeks now. It is time to dust off winter, take a deep breath, and ready ourselves for this new season. It can be a busy time of year but don’t stress. Stress is a natural negative reaction in your mind and body to challenges. While it can positively motivate you to get through certain obstacles, it can also wreak havoc on your physical and mental health.

You can’t escape stress, but you can change how you deal with it. When you are faced with anxiety, here are a few helpful suggestions to help you better cope.

Take a deep breath and focus on why you’re actually feeling this way.

Take a walk or do any exercise that allows you to think about the situation and how to handle it without losing your cool.

Practice meditation. Meditation allows you to shift your awareness, lowers blood pressure, and improves heart rate, and breathing.

Another way to stay ahead of stress and anxiety is to be proactive and schedule regular body work. Massage has been shown to reduce stress significantly on the physical and psychological levels.

An aromatherapy massage is scented with plant essences, also known as essential oils, added to your massage oil. These oils may also be diffused in the treatment room, applied to warm towels, and available to help ground you with inhalation methods at the beginning of the treatment. These oils are extracted from flowers and other plant parts, offering a pleasing scent, and are believed to have healing properties.

The soothing effects of aromatherapy massage can benefit a variety of conditions, including headaches, insomnia, reduction of stress and anxiety, and can alleviate certain digestive disorders, back pain, and even premenstrual symptoms.

Our Plant Essence Massage is designed to enhance the mind and body connection with the use of up to seven (7) specific herbal essences chosen precisely for the effect they have on the body. Whether you experience our Grounding, Uplifting, or Chakra Balancing blend, this treatment is warm and soothing and smells divine.
