What is The Pushy Goat?
The Pushy Goat came from humble beginnings but came to fruition because of Jennifer's love for her clients and the fulfillment that came from being the bright spot in someone's day, week, month, or year.
In a nutshell, The Pushy Goat is a place where one can come for stellar customized, professional massages, body treatments, & skin care services. We all truly care about our clients and their well-being and we love to see and feel the relief they get from coming to visit us. We cater services here to ensure that each person gets the results they are looking for.
To be honest though, because I (Jenn) am the owner and founder, it feels like more than that. It is a representation of me because Massage Therapist is what I have identified as for almost 20 years. It's been my primary source of income and brings me a lot of happiness. Like me, The Pushy Goat changes and evolves. I, and the other practitioners here, strive to always be our best and to bring the best care to our clients.
We each have many wonderful things to offer and enjoy being able to have autonomy in the services we each offer our clients. We each bring to the table different modalities (specialties) allowing us to provide a holistic approach to the mind-body experience.
Where did the name come from?
The Pushy Goat came from one of my relationships with one of my best friends. She and I had been discussing what name I would choose for my business. I had very quickly gone from employee to sole proprietor in a friend's basement to taking over rent for an entire building with 6 rooms available for treatment. I had no idea what I was doing, but there I was. I didn’t want a name that was your “typical” massage business name. I had a goal ruminating inside that was to work and own a place that smelled like herbs, had loads of plants, and everyone felt good all of the time. A holistic little bungalow to call my own. I was creating the world I wanted. I wanted a name that was going to be unique and catchy as well as something that could grow with me.
My friend and I laugh often. We appreciate each other’s true selves and understand each other. So, she doesn’t mind when I am my pushy little self. Just trying to make people a tiny bit uncomfortable, bringing awareness to the nonsensical ways of reasoning we have about ourselves.
I should also mention that she and I are interested in a lot of the same things, but while I am an Earth sign, a Capricorn, and her a Gemini, an air sign, we often come from different perspectives. She is also a Reiki Master and she totally appeals to everything I have loved learning about over the years, horoscopes, energy, spirituality, self-expression & discovery.
After a visit to Tampa and us giggling about some really lame names, I returned home and we were having a chat on the phone. I am sure it was going down like so many other conversations when I am on a roll. I was probably messing with her about something when she said, “Oh my gosh! You should name your business The Pushy Goat because that is what you are!”
There it is, a daily reminder of how "pushy" I can be.
